Will Wilkinson links to Glenn Loury’s corrective to James Q. Wilson’s various praise-heavy obituaries. Loury, a black academic who was formerly high up on the black conservative mantle before a fall from grace and a leftward shift, writes of Wilson’s “broken windows” theory:

When I consider the impact of his ideas, I can’t help but think about the millions of folks being hassled even as we speak by coercive state agents who are acting on some Wilsonian theory recommending stop-and-frisk policing.

For a minute I thought Loury was talking about Affirmative action.  But I guess State agents are OK as long as they are agents for the right cause.

    The police must become more brutal in their methods. This is assured as the demographic crisis deepens and as minority protections increase.

    The only people allowed to resist blacks is cops. Even they are chastized for it. The legal system assures that most whites won’t act in self defense for fear of “racism” or some other cooked allegation.

    You’ve the the people acting more sheepish and the wolves acting more wolfish. Naturally, the sheep dogs must become more aggresive.

    I’ve listened to his rants against stop and frisk on bloggingheads.tv and he really can’t seem to explain why’s against it. It’s led to massive reduction in black on black, and black on white violence in NYC. His avocation of releasing all blacks from jail would trigger a crime wave more deadly than most ethnic cleansing campaigns. He either really believes that blacks are really nice peaceful folks who don’t commit the majority of crimes or he want’s to kick the anti-black ethic cleansing into high gear.

    Of course, the fact that Glenn Loury is a convicted criminal himself surely has nothing to do with his anti-police rhetoric. I mean, to think that would be racist.
