Yet another attack at the Fairview Heights Red Lobster outside of St. Louis. Again, as with an incident at the same location last December, black female patrons attacked a waitress over some small slight. Last time, four black female patrons attacked a white waitress for bringing them the wrong food order. This time, the patrons became angry that their waitress (race still unknown, but unless there was some prior beef at the root of this attack, we should assume that the waitress is white – it’s common knowledge in the industry that black females treat white waitresses like dog doo-doo) repeatedly refilled their water. That skank! The women threw a glass of water at the waitress and then hit her in the face with a table tent (the fold out ads placed on tables to help sell colorful drinks and appetizers).
You might remember my piece at Taki’s about the Black Studies researchers who published research on the topic of “tableside racism”. Their argument was that black people get worse service because of “white server culture”. But as I pointed out, it’s not as if servers (all of them) think this way irrationally. Besides black patrons’ tendency to tip worse while requiring more extensive service, the incident at this Red Lobster highlights another point. A larger segment of the black dining population are crude. You hear about the ones who actually do attack their waitress, but there are plenty of other incident that either go unmentioned or come ‘this close’ to physical confrontation. In those instances where a confrontation doesn’t occur, there would still be that underlying tension. Perhaps a copped attitude or smart-ass remarks. That entire spectrum of anti-social behaviors makes black patrons less desirable to wait on. And despite the fact that Red Lobster is run by millionaires, the people doing the interface are proles who are at the whim of the person stuffing their face with unlimited shrimp and Cheddar Bay biscuits.
