1.  ManBoobz thinks that because Game bloggers discuss alpha and beta males and because the concept of the alpha male was first applied to wolves, the disavowal of that hypothesis by the researcher who first proposed it means that Gamers are full of shit.  But while guys who think about sexual relations may sometimes draw on the animal kingdom to learn about human female behavior patterns, they surely didn’t place all their eggs in the alpha wolf basket.  It’s pretty simple, in a given social milieu, the socially dominant male gets the spoils.  Social dominance can be a function of physical or intellectual dominance too.  But wolves aren’t the only other social animals, and they were never considered the closest model for human behavior.  On that note, a recently produced documentary about the Java Macaque.

6.  Just an update to an old story, in case anyone was curious:  That attack that took place in Richmond, Virginia last year – the one that, IIRC, was the black-on-white attack that set me on a path towards investigating interracial crimes – I asked the victim of that attack if his attackers were ever arrested.  He said that they never were.  Sad.

Futrelle discredits social dominance because he’s so socially submissive, especially around women (see the Al Jazeera video). He’s a keyboard warrior who wilts in real life even among people who actually agree with him. The rest is just ressentiment. He doesn’t have it within him to be ‘alpha’ – shorthand for socially dominant/assertive – so he tries to pull down those who do.

I have noticed how a frame of distrust against the Goverment is completely alien to Lefties.

My bet is because they masturbate to their one world goverment totalitarian utopia, but I’m open to ideas.

Alpha and beta have never been anything more than an easy metaphor. This, of course, is obvious to anyone who isn’t a feminist or autist.

Which explains why Mr. Boobz doesn’t understand it.

I made epic comments in that Richmond thread last year – completely forgot about that thread. I redefined contemporary discussion of black hostility to whites, articulating some very important concepts.

I can’t believe they haven’t arrested anyone for that Richmond thing, they should be able to get plenty of info from the ISP on who was posting those videos to facebook. Looks like this page for Doughman Media has recently been brought back online at some point:

Look at all the lefties grilling this guy on Reddit about his credentials. And they’re using all manner of dumb arguments, focusing on semantic ambiguities etc etc. It really is as frustrating as listening to creationists talk about evolution.

As that video shows, it’s hard to be an alpha male.
Strict disciplinary policies in school do sometimes have unfair consequences. Overall, though, when you’re dealing with a rowdy group, they work. It’s often upper middle class parents who chafe at overly strict rules in a school. I understand this, too, because they are often smarter than the teachers who are enforcing them.
I can imagine the Richmond man is really angry that no one has been arrested in his beating. I don’t know what you do about something like that.
