Yeah. But still considerably less problematic than blacks. We don’t see flash mobs of Hmongs beating up others, nor do we see the 72% out-of-wedlock birth rate that we see in blacks..
Their women also have more tolerable looks than US black women. No obesity among Hmongs, vs. 80%+ among black women in the US.
I find it funny that the most racist comment here (as with on any thread) is by the person called ‘anti-racist’.

Since movies are earning more and more box-office revenues from Asia, a trend towards Asian actors, themes, etc. in Hollywood movies can only increase. There was a time when Asia might have been just 5% of a movie’s ticket sales. Now it might be 20%, and rising.
A lot of that revenue will still flow to Hollywood (i.e. the US).

Gran Torino was disappointing. It had several good moments, but overall was too much of a lecture on Hmong immigrant culture, using actors barely qualified for a high school drama. “Ooohh so sorry, I didn’t know you’re not supposed to touch kids on the tops of their heads because you savages think it lets the devil eat their brains.” Nobody cares.
eastwood is married to a black/japanese/puerto-rican/white woman. in general, his politics are pretty interesting; mostly libertarian. very anti-war. he once described his politics as a mix between noam chomsky and milton friedman. in his rnc speech, he alluded to his opposition to the iraq war, and said obama should have ended the war in afghanistan, which is pretty a unpopular stance among republicans, as it’s almost the only obama policy they support. if i recall correctly, michael steele got canned in part for saying something similar.
Ok, now we are after the speech. They aren’t even bothering with the “dog whistle” rethoric, Eastwood is a old white man so he’s senile and evil period.
