2.  At The American Conservative, Samuel Goldman writes on liberals’ ideological bubble.  Because of exposure to liberalized mass media, conservatives have no choice but to confront liberalism, yet liberals only meet caricatures of conservatives which they meet through the very same liberal media.  So liberals know much less about actual conservatives than conservatives know about actual liberals.

3.  At Jezebel, Kate Harding has a message for MRAs.  She really showed all 14 of them.

4.  A guy named Richard Perez-Pena (sorry, my keyboard isn’t equipped to handle the accents and tildes that belong on the guy’s name) writes an article at NYT titled “Courting Merit Scholars Opens Door to Questions“.  I didn’t know it, but the University of Oklahoma has the highest number of National Merit Scholars of any public university in the country.  They lure them in with various financial inducements, and some (NYT writers and deans at competing schools) have a problem with it.

5.  Afternoon workouts may be best for our natural circadian rhythms.  This is great news for me as I usually work out at about 2 or 3 p.m. every day before work.  The problem for me is the work part.  Working at night probably neutralizes the positive effects of afternoon workouts.

Huge shooting at Connecticut school. Something like 18 kids killed in early reports. No real info yet. Shooters dead.

If you tell a liberal/progressive to name the ultra far “religious right!” they will go Glenn Beck or Bill O’Reilly or Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh or FOX News.

They don’t know who Steve Sailer is. Or who Lawrence Auster is. Or who Brett Stevens is. Or Patrick Buchanan.

American liberals are demented. The USA has had liberals in influence and power for decades, yet they scream when George W. a crusader for feminism “let’s bomb and bring them democracy and freedom!” Bush and think that the USA is full of far-right wingers.

Even though my understanding of the workings of the Cathedral and the liberal mentality is pretty good, I have no good answer for WHY was libs’ hate of a liberal like W so shrill.

#4: A scholarship program that gives admissions officers, bean counters, thought police, and well-connected parents/counselors/administrators NO avenues to flex their muscles and flaunt their power? And produces great results in graduating seniors to boot? Scandal! MUST BE CRUSHED

It’s not like I needed more evidence to know feminism is a joke but it’s shocking how delusional they are.

“I have no good answer for WHY was libs’ hate of a liberal like W so shrill.”

My take: Because policy is not the heart of the matter. Ideology is about visceral, emotional in-groupism, and W represented the loathed and despised out-group to liberals. Policy is just the expedient that rationalizes the emotions already existing.

Let the kunts shriek. They discredit themselves and embarrass their ruling class benefactors with each ASCII menstruation.

You know, since someone else mentioned Brett Stevens, I think it’s interesting to compare him with people like Kate Harding. Brett Stevens thinks of the Unabomber as a hero and has a history of writing pro-Hitler comments, but everything he says is just about the calmest, most reasonable thing imaginable.

Contrast that with the shrieking, batshit insanity on display in that article from a fairly mainstream feminist at Jezebel.

Its called cognitive dissonance and splitting, two of the most primitive, immature defense mechanisms in human beings. Add narcissism and a (Un)healthy does of inferiority complex, and, well, you get MSNBC and the rest of the “snarkerati. And feminism. And MRA. And every other extreme ideology out there.

It’s called “the narcissism of small differences.”
